No pushing, no running away, staying connected, touching, fearlessly, without any violence at all, playfully, smiling. That is respect.

Martin Buber’s “I-It”  is the source of violence against other and against self. Instrumentality is the normal way in this country. This mindset is our biggest problem, from it all forms of human violence and neglect originate.  Buber’s “I-Thou” is the only respectful way of being with others.

Respect, whenever it exists is embodied. Our bodies know and they show it and they recognize it. Lack of authenticity, fearfulness, domination of others are each apparent to everyone every time. Touching others is literal, palpable, even if from a distance.
